White House physician Kevin O'Connor confirmed on Saturday that President Joe Biden's COVID-19 tests had turned negative, after being positive for several days. O'Connor said in a report that the US president would remain in self-isolation until he tested negative again. The 79-year-old was released from isolation on Wednesday last week after testing positive for COVID for the first time on July 21.

He tested positive again on Saturday in what O'Connor described as a "rebound" case that occurs in a small percentage of patients treated with the antiviral drug Paxlovid.
