WHO Director-General Tidros Adhanom Gebresos said on Wednesday that the organization considers the outbreak of the Coruna virus a pandemic.
"We are very concerned about the levels of prevalence and the levels of not taking action," he added during a press conference. "So we reached an assessment that the Corona virus can be classified as an epidemic."
He clarified that the number of cases outside China has increased by 13 during the past two weeks, expressing the organization's concern about the rapid spread of the epidemic, and its failure to combat it sufficiently.
