The death toll from the recent corona virus that has killed 425 people has exceeded the number of deaths from the SARS virus in mainland China, as the Chinese government on Monday recognized "movement" shortcomings, noting that it "urgently" needs protective masks as a measure to contain the spread of the epidemic.

The number of confirmed deaths in China from the new Corona virus has risen to 425, after authorities in Hubei Province announced Tuesday that 64 additional deaths had been recorded.

The county health committee also said that there is a sharp increase in the number of people infected with the virus, with 3,235 confirmed new infections.

According to statistics of the central government, there are in total 20,400 injuries inside Chinese territory.

Chinese money markets

Ten days after the start of the crisis that led to the imposition of a quarantine on central China's Hubei Province and the city of Wuhan, the epicenter of the virus, Chinese financial markets returned to business Monday, recording losses of about 8% on the Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges.

As fear of the virus dominates the country, Beijing has acknowledged "deficiencies" in its response, admitting that, as usual, it is counting on the rest of the world to cope with the crisis.

And the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the ruling Communist Party demanded an improvement in the response system to emergencies, after the emergence of "deficiencies and difficulties in responding to the epidemic," according to what the new China News Agency announced Monday.

Medical masks

"What China urgently needs is medical masks, uniforms and goggles," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Xunyang told a press conference.

She reported that several countries, including France, the United Kingdom, Japan and South Korea, have sent medical supplies.

The Ministry of Industry stated that the country is seeking to import its needs from Europe, Japan and the United States.

On the other hand, the first death from the disease was recorded outside China, with the World Health Organization announcing Sunday that a Chinese had died in the Philippines, noting that he was from Wuhan, 44 years old.

The vast majority of injuries and deaths have been concentrated in Hubei, China, and the province's 56 million people have been cut off from the world since January 23.

The city of Wuhan received the first two cases, in a new hospital built within 10 days, according to the newspaper "People".

Since January 24, the construction of this hospital has become a focus of attention in China, and television networks have been broadcasting in almost continuous broadcasting the activity of thousands
